The Opening of the New Church Hall
Hall
The new hall and other facilities were formally opened on 6th January 2006, following Mass. In attendance were the Father Michael, our current priest and our four previous priests.
The new hall, built on the east side of the church, comes complete with a new entrance hall, parish offices, a kitchenette, a counselling room, a meeting room which can hold around 20 people and another room where functions can be held. On top of the gable of the hall is a belfry in which our bell has been hung.
The Bell
The bell, cast specially for the new buildings was consecrated by Bishop Michael, Bishop of East Anglia. Unlike traditional bells this one is operated by switches. Dedicated to St. Paul, the bell is the first to be consecrated in the ponitificate of Pope Benedict XVI. It is shown (left) before the altar being consecrated prior to hanging.
