Dioscesean Council of Laity
Covers all parishes in the East of England. Minutes and information (on the Diocese website)
Parish Pastoral Committee
This is elected regularly, and oversees/delegates to all other committees.
The Committee for Family Life
This group has responsibility for the following:
- Marriage Care
- Preparation courses for parents seeking baptism for infants. Mothers and Toddlers
- Youth activities
- Schools
- The spiritual needs of: single people, divorced and separated people, the elderly, the housebound, the sick, the bereaved.
The Committee for Evangelisation
This group has responsibility for ensuring that the parish is fulfilling its primary purpose preaching the Gospel! under this umbrella come all possible forms of Adult education:
- The RCIA (known locally as Journey in Faith) for welcoming new converts and enquirers.
- Cafe: ongoing formation for Adults
- Catechetics: preparing our young people for the sacraments
- Ecumenical contacts with other churches.
- Justice and Peace issues
- The Parish Contact scheme
The Committee for Administration
Under this heading come:
- The Finance Committee - Minutes
- Fabric and Maintenance committee for all Parish property including the new hall, facilities and car park.
- Communications
- Hall Management - Minutes
- Social Committee - Minutes
The Committee for Worship
(not yet active- please volunteer)
The job of this group is to care for every aspect of our public and private prayer. It will be concerned mainly with:
- The ministries excercised at Mass. Welcome and hospitality, Readers, servers, Eucharitic Ministers, music, ushers, sacristan clergy.
- Liturgies in school
- Liturgies for special needs: the housebound, the sick,
- The baptism of infants: the celebration of Marriage; Funeral Liturgies
