Youth group for children in school years 4-9

Our weekly Youth Group for post-First Communion children runs from 5.45 to 7.00pm on Tuesdays in term time. The Youth Group aims to bring together young people within the parish to build friendships and faith. We focus on getting to know each other, making friends, playing games, bible study, asking questions, finding answers, prayer and eating sweets.

Come along. Bring Friends. Invite new people. Remind old people.

To give you an idea of what we do …

We’ve discovered some of the Old Testament big shots – Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, had a night of light party, helped with the Christmas shoebox appeal, celebrated Advent with a creative prayer time for all ages, explored Lent which led us to hold a cake sale which raised £120 for charity. We’ve taken a look at Jesus – who actually is he and what is he like? –  and how the Holy Spirit can change our lives. We’ve taken a journey through the Our Father – what are we really praying?

So what will this year hold in store?… Come along to find out!

Could youth group be what you’re looking for? A chance to spend time with your friends, old and new, to explore faith in a fun way and find new ways of finding God. Give it a try.

We will meet again on Tuesday at 5:45-7pm, all are welcome.

If you want to use the tuck shop please bring along a bit of money, up to 30p.

The groups are co-ordinated and run by Clare Spiller but she is also looking for adult helpers who can make squash and generally help out—please email her  at youth@olise.co.uk if you could be on the rota once a month.
