Meet Fr Leo Michael

Parish Priest

Fr Leo is a Sri Lankan Jesuit priest. He studied theology at Heythrop College, London (2005–2009) and trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF Therapy London). He also served as an assistant priest at St Anselm’s Church, Southall, London.

In Sri Lanka, he worked in social outreach and the Ignatian retreat apostolate. In 2018 he returned to the United Kingdom and was incardinated into the Diocese of East Anglia as a diocesan priest. He subsequently served as Catholic Chaplain at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and as an assistant priest at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norwich.

He was installed as Parish Priest of Our Lady Immaculate and St Etheldreda on 3 October 2021 by Bishop Alan Hopes. The Parish has been blessed ever since to have Fr Leo as its Parish Priest.

Deacon James Hurst

Our Parish is blessed to have the help of Deacon James Hurst.

Deacon James Hurst is the deacon of Our Lady Immaculate and St Etheldreda, who was ordained on 22nd June 2019. He has played an active roll in the life of the parish, from volunteering for the food bank to maintaining the finances of the parish as well as being Vicar of Finance for the Diocese.

Meet Fr John Morrill

Priest in Residence

Our Parish is blessed to have the help of Father John Morrill.

Father John Morrill is a British Professor of History and an Academic who specialises in the political, religious, social and cultural history of early modern Britain. He was ordained as permanent deacon at the Parish of Our Lady Immaculate and St Etheldreda in 1996 and made a Priest in residence in 2024.
